We’re the Old Hen Farm. Follow along with us here or on Instagram as we share our day-to-day lives on the farm!
We’re Dan and Consuelo Arroyo and we believe that with a vision and hard work anything is possible.
As a retired military family, we decided to grow our roots in the beautiful state of South Carolina. We started out on a 13-acre homestead and realized that we quickly outgrew our farm. So the search began and in March of 2019 we closed on this beautiful 78 acre farm in Buford Township, Lancaster, SC.
We love the homesteader lifestyle and believe in all the benefits that living off the land provides.
Follow our journey as we bring this farm back to life. We will be building our new home, expanding our farm business and plan to restore the original 1883 farmhouse.
What came first the Chicken or the Egg? For us, a Chicken. That’s why we are the Old Hen Farm. Fresh eggs are available for purchase.
Our next addition to the farm were Pygmy Goats. We breed our goats and sell ‘bottle babies’ and weanlings.
We currently have a fenced 3 acre horse pasture with a 4 stall barn and 53 acres of woods to trail ride. We are accepting boarders.
Initially brought to the farm to be livestock guardians, Clementine, Delilah, Jolene and Penny Lane will be bred when they are of breeding age.
We breed our New Zealand White rabbits to feed our family. We sell kits after they have been weaned.
A big dream of ours is to restore the original 1883 farmhouse pictured below. Stay tuned!
Moses and Dixie have learned their roles as livestock guardians. Moses is living with the goats and Dixie is living with the KuneKune pigs.
We recently added KuneKune pigs to the farm. We hope to breed them when they are of breeding age. KuneKune pigs are pasture raised on grass and are an excellent source of red meat pork.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit us.
